Hi Friends!   Here is the first of many holiday projects/videos that I will be creating for you!

I created this not so scary haunted house card using the triple layer card technique..........



Here's what you need to create this card:

Cardstock is Basic Black #121045, Whisper White #100730, Pumpkin Pie #105117
Inks are Basic Black #140931, Basic Gray #140932, Pumpkin Pie #126945, Crushed Curry #131173

Make your card base from basic black.  From pumpkin pie, cut 2 mats, one at 4-1/2 x 3-1/4 and one at 3-1/2 x 2-1/4.  From whisper white cuts 3 mats, one at 5-1/4 x 4, one at 4-1/4 x 3, and one at 3-1/4 x 2.

Using just a smidge of adhesive, adhere the whisper white mat 4-1/4 x 3 to the center of the whisper white mat that measures 5-1/4 x 4.  Then using a smidge of adhesive, adhere the whisper white mat that measures 3-1/4 x 2 to the center of the second mat.  Now using basic black ink, stamp the haunted house and two sets of bats.  Using basic gray, stamp cat, using crushed curry, stamp moon, using pumpkin pie stamp pumpkin randomly all over.  

Gently remove the first layer and then the second layer.  Adhere the first whisper white layer to the basic black card front.  Adhere the second mat to the corresponding pumpkin pie mat and then the smaller mat to the corresponding pumpkin pie mat.

Adhere the second mat to the card front lining up the images that are surrounding.   Put dimensionals to the back of the smaller mat and line up images on the second mat, adhere.  Glue a black sequin star to the moon.



Take the old olive marker and flick the brush tip against the inside of the cap to splatter the ink across the from of the card.  Use yellow marker and color in the windows so it looks like the lights are on.  Put Glossy Accents over the windows to give a glass like effect.

For the sentiment on the inside, I cut a piece of smokey slate cardstock to 3-3/4 x 4 and used the sentiment from the Spooky Fun stamp set.

Hi everyone!  I had my friend Diane ask, what type of sentiments do you put in these cards?  So I decided to show you how I picked the semtiments.

First, you'll want to gather any stamp sets that you have with sentiments.

The ones I used are, Layering Love #141965, Bunch of Blossoms #141573, Floral Phrases #142355, Suite Sayings #140712, and the new stamp/diecut set called Thoughtful Branches Bundle #144328 which can be purchased only thru the month of August.

Next, look at the words you put on the front of your cards and pick sentiments that you feel convey what they mean.

Cut out words from books, magazines, or I used Tim Holtz Idea-ology word stickers



I took all of my punches and punched out various shapes from the designer series paper.

Then I took a sheet of whisper white card stock and stamped it with the soft suede ink and the hardwood stamp.  Using the 1-3/4" circle punch, punched a boat load of circles.



Now start playing. Put little vignettes together. Add some ribbon, Layer the flowers.  Add a butterfly, some leaves, thread, paperclips, etc.  I pop dotted the flowers on the circle to give more dimension. Then add words for the Little Thoughts.



Then I took whisper white card stock and made card bases that measure 5-1/2 by 4-1/4.  Using the gorgeous grunge stamp set and the in color inks, I stamped a background. Then I adhered the little thought vignettes with pop dots.



WARNING!   Making these little thoughts are ADDICTING!

I just can't stop and you won't either!

July Paper Pumpkin

The older I get the more I love anything with glitz!   The more sparkle and shine, the better!



Let's make a card that sparkles!

You need your July Paper Pumpkin kit, card stock in Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo, and Emerald Envy.  Ink pads in Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy.  Glitter paper ( I bought copper glitter paper from Hobby Lobby), Stampin Up dimensionals, and Fast Fuse adhesive.

Cut your card base from the Flirty Flamingo and/or Emerald Envy.  Cut 8-1/2"  by 5-1/2"  and score at 4-1/4".   Cut Whisper White at 3-3/4" by 5" for the front of the card.

Using one of the smaller tags in the kit, trace the gem shape onto scrap of Whisper White card stock.  Punch hole in upper left corner.

Take one of the larger boxes from the kit and cut it up along the score lines.  This will give you numerous triangles.



Lay one of the box triangles on the glitter paper and cut the glitter paper leaving a border around the box triangle.  Using Fast Fuse, glue the triangle to the glitter piece.

Using Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy, stamp various gem shapes onto the Whisper White card stock.  With Flirty Flamingo, stamp sentiment onto gem shape.  Sponge edges with Flirty Flamingo ink.

Cut strip of glitter paper to measure 3/8" by 5" and adhere to top and bottom of stamped Whisper White sheet.  Adhere strip of glitter paper to top and bottom of this piece.  With dimensionals, adhere triangle piece to front.  Tie a piece of the twine from the kit around this piece.  Thread the tag onto the twine and tie it.  Then fringe the edges.  Add a dimensional under the tag.  Now adhere this to your card base.



For the inside, I thought it only befitting to add another gem to this card.  So I drew a diamond shape.  Traced it on a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped it with the background stamp from the kit and added a sentiment as well.



Like I said, one can never have enough sparkle!

Sweet and Juicy

I don't know about you, but I am loving all of the fresh fruit of the season!  I love going up and down the aisles of the farmers market, smelling the fruits and vegetables!

It is a beautiful site, don't you think?

I cased this card from Amanda Metz, putting my own little spin on it.

Stamp sets I used are Apple of my Eye and Hardwood. (You could use wood embossing folder for the background and swipe some ink over it to highlight the wood grain)

Inks used are Pumpkin Pie, Cucumber Crush, Soft Suede, and Basic Black.

Cardstock is Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper (DSP) used is from Affectionately Yours

Also, you'll need linen thread, dimensionals, yellow enamel dots (I used It's my party enamel dots), and Glossy Accents.

Cut your card base from crumb cake card stock, 8-1/2" by 5-1/2", fold in half.  Cut the green DSP to 1-1/2" by 5-1/2".  Cut the whisper white card stock 2-7/8" by 4-1/8".  Cut the daffodil delight to 3" by 4-1/4".

Adhere the DSP to the card base 1/2" away from the left side.  With the Hardwood stamp, using soft suede ink, stamp onto the whisper white piece. Using the sentiment from the Apple of my Eye set, stamp it in the lower right corner with basic black ink.  Adhere this piece to the daffodil delight.  Now tie a piece of the linen thread around this piece and finish off with a bow.  Adhere this to the card base.

On a piece of whisper white card stock, using pumpkin pie ink, stamp the orange and the orange slice.  Use scissors and cut them out.  Cut the orange slice in half.  Using cucumber crush, stamp one stem and one leaf and cut out.

Adhere stem and leaf to back of orange and add dimensionals to the back of the orange and place on card above the sentiment.  Adhere one dimensional to slice and add to the card.  Add a few enamel dots to the card as well.

I used Glossy Accents to pop the juiciness of the orange slice!  Stamped an orange slice on the front of the envelope as well.

Memories of Tuscany

I have a special place in my heart for Tuscany.  My husband and I were blessed to spend our 30th wedding anniversary in Italy.  So when I saw the "Tuscan Vineyard" stamp set in the new Stampin Up annual catalog I just had to create a card.



If you ever wanted to try your hand at watercolor, here's your chance.  With this image, it is so super easy, anyone can do this.   Here is a list of everything you need to create this beautiful card...

Stamp Sets used are "Tuscan Vineyard" and "Gorgeous Grunge"

Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Baked Brown Sugar, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, and StazOn Black

Cardstock : Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Elegant Eggplant, and Watercolor paper

Also you'll need: scissors, adhesive,sponge daubers, Stampin Up Ovals Collection Framelits, Stampin Dimensionals, Stampin Up Linen Thread, and Aqua Painters (I used the medium size for this image)

Using Old Olive cardstock, cut your card base at 8-1/2" by 5-1/2".  Fold and score at 4-1/4".  I then used a sponge dauber and sponged old olive ink around the front of the card base.   Using Crumb Cake cardstock, cut your first layer at 5-1/4" by 4".  Take the grape cluster stamp and with Elelgant Eggplant ink, randomly stamp all over the Crumb Cake cardstock. Open up your scissors and run the edge along the crumb cake cardstock to roughen up the edges.  Adhere this to the cardbase using adhesive.

Take the scene image and using StazOn Black ink, stamp image onto watercolor paper.  I used the third oval framelit from the center to cut this image out.

Using the fourth oval framelit from the center, cut an oval out of elegant eggplant cardstock. I then used a sponge dauber and sponged elegant eggplant ink around the edges of the oval. Now adhere this to the card front.

Now fill the barrel of the Medium aqua painter brush with water.  Squeeze gently until water comes out of the tip of the brush.  Have a paper towel handy and wipe the tip of the brush.  Now, did you know that all of your Stampin Up ink pads can be used as watercolors!  Before you open the ink pad, give it a couple of squeezes.  This will put ink in the lid of the pad.  Now open it and you have ink to use for watercoloring.  With the tip of the brush, pick up color and apply to image, when you want to change color, simply wipe the brush onto a paper towel and squeeze until clear water runs out.  Then you are ready for the next color.  After you apply color to each section, let it dry for a couple of minutes so the colors do not run together.

I used old olive for the rows of grapevines and the short round trees.  Always artichoke for the tall cypress trees. Soft sky and marina mist for the sky.  Crumb cake to highlight the dark sides of the mountains.  Baked brown sugar for the flat land.  Cajun craze for the villa.  Now to get the illusion of sunlight hitting the villa, I used very little cajun craze to highlight the left side of the villa and corresponding roof side.  Then I picked up more color to finish off the rest of the villa.

To get the illusion of grapes growing, I used the spotted image from the stamp set Gorgeous Grunge and stamped it using elegant eggplant.  Using a sponge dauber, sponge the edge of the watercolor image lightly with elegant eggplant.  Add dimensionals to the back of the image and center over elegant eggplant oval.


Using baked brown sugar ink, stamp the wine jugs onto a  piece of crumb cake cardstock.  Cut it out and wrap some linen thread around the top of the jug and tie a knot.  Using dimensionals, adhere to front of card.  Cut a piece of crumb cake cardstock at 4" by 5-1/4".  Using baked brown sugar ink, stamp wine bottle opener and corks.  Adhere to inside of card.


I always decorate the front of my envelope.  Using baked brown sugar, stamp swirl and using elegant eggplant, stamp wine bottle seal.

Use sentiment of your choice for inside of card.
